all summer long, the familiar jingle sounding from the ever-present mr. softee truck acts as a kind of siren song for some. as a resident of brooklyn’s boerum hill however, blue marble’s atlantic avenue flagship has served as my treat trek of choice, temptingly located exactly midway between my subway stop and my apartment. bikini season never stood a chance!
the scoop came this morning though (via emotional roommate email with the subject line, i kid you not, “worst news in the world”) that my sweet bubble had burst and that, per brownstoner.com, the rising rents of atlantic avenue had claimed its latest victim. but the cherry on top? i just have to work a little harder to earn my dessert: blue marble’s court street locale appears to still be going strong.
